1st place — Africa's Talking BuildWithAI, Lagos

First place in the Lagos round with DialAI, an AI assistant delivered over USSD and SMS for people without internet access.

DialAI put a Gemini-backed assistant behind USSD and SMS so that a feature phone with no data plan could still reach it, for health information, translation and practical guidance.

What this proves: designing for a hard delivery constraint rather than the comfortable case. What it does not prove: sustained usage — the original demo deployment is offline.
